Aquifer Testing Methods

Pumping Tests
Pumping test methods of estimating aquifer properties include single- and multi-well configurations. Derivative analysis is a popular tool for diagnosing aquifer conditions and matching type curves. Recovery tests are frequently conducted after pumping is stopped to estimate aquifer properties. Step-drawdown tests are used to determine well performance (well loss and efficiency).
Slug Tests
Slug tests are generally conducted as single-well tests.
Tidal Effects
Estimate aquifer properties from groundwater response to tidal fluctuations in a confined aquifer.
